Big win for communities, clients, workers

King County Council enacts law to improve vital services, ensure workers rights

On Nov. 13, 2007, the King County Council voted 5-3 to enact the mental health tax ordinance.

The new funding will support improved access to community services, expanded treatment for youth, diversion courts to keep people out of jail, increased outreach and intervention, and reduced caseloads for workers.

Find out how the money will be spent to expand and improve services.
