1199NW Strong at Labor Notes 2022!

Last weekend, a contingent of SEIU Healthcare 1199NW members flew out to Chicago where we attended the 2022 Labor Notes Conference, a gathering of grassroots union activists and leaders of our movement. We attended workshops to gain more skills for leading our coworkers and fighting the fight for better workplaces.

Our fellow members Hawah A., CNA, and Fadumo E., RN from Cascade Behavioral Hospital (pictured below on the left), spoke on panels to engaged audiences about how they fought back against racism in the workplace, how they got most of the workers of their hospital out on a safety strike, and how they dealt with day-to-day workplace violence.

We bonded as a team and raised our shared analysis of what it means to be union strong!
