Voters chose to renew last year’s hospital levy because they understand the importance of investing in our independent community hospital. Healthcare workers at EvergreenHealth expected this funding would expand services to improve the quality of care for our families close to home, but management is turning down more resources for healthcare workers and our community.  

Healthcare workers are calling for one thing: access to the Healthcare Training Fund, a well-established labor-management partnership across eight healthcare systems and the largest healthcare union in WA, but EvergreenHealth said no, and even falsely claim that it is “illegal” for Evergreen to join the Fund.  

Healthcare workers need more resources for education, recruitment, and retention of their coworkers. The Training Fund is a critical tool that leads to better patient care.
